VIDEO - How we try for a baby. A BTS look at IUI.
Ben and I have been trying for a bubba for almost 2 years! Ben had prostate cancer when he was 36, which means he is no longer able to ejaculate. You can hear him share more about this on our podcast here.
It’s a tough ask to try and figure out how to make a baby on your own with those circumstances.
Ben is currently sharing his prostate cancer story for ABC Life (you can also listen on our podcast here) and what life is like now after the fact. Read his full piece here. As you may know, we have been trying for a baby for almost two years and with all of Benny's sperm frozen it is no easy feat. Ben and I let these guys follow us on our latest baby making adventure to educate and share what it is truly like when you are in the midst of trying to fall pregnant. The "unnatural" way.
We are open people, and excluding our nearest and dearest, when we were open and honest about what we were doing on the weekend, or what I am focusing on with my career (not as much as usual I've been busy getting blood tests and focusing/obsessing TTC) people would go very, very quiet. No one knows what to say. It's like you are in infertility / TTC world or you ain't.
It doesn't have to be like that. And the people going through it need peeps on the other side.
So we decided to share for those of you silently in the middle. We see you.
If you are intrigued because you are going through this - watch - we hope you will feel less alone. And perhaps if this has nothing to do with you, watch so you can be a little more open to someone who may need a bit of encouraging to tell you about the 4th blood test they took this week. Trust me. It doesn't feel as painful and as boring to you as it becomes to us cats trying! HAHA
For those of you wanting more of our journey - search for #Couplegoals? wherever you get your podcasts. I seem to have a bit of a bug for sharing content that isn't readily available.
So proud of how far Benny has come.
